Midterm

Narrative

ISO 200 55mm f/14 1/125sec Cannon Rebel T3

This photo is meant to be mysterious and spooky. I saw this building and thought the windows had the coolest lines in the reflection, so I took the shot. But as I began playing around with it in black and white, I began to imagine a ghostly figure behind the window. So I then created the figure and placed it behind the glass.

Nature

This photo was taken at the botanical gardens in Oklahoma City. I cropped the image slightly to put more focus on the subject matter. I have no idea what this plant is called, but it looks astounding. It was really hard to pick one photo from the shoot to use for the nature shot. But I felt this photo depicted the complexity and beauty of nature best.

Portraiture

The eyes are placed front and center to stare directly at the viewer. The lights across her face provide a bit of perspective to the otherwise graphic image. As I walked around taking photo’s I saw this girl on the wall of a building staring right at me, so I felt compelled to take the picture.

Still Life

The hand is reaching for the oranges in a relaxed pose, seemingly frozen in time. The oranges being bright and warm colors are the clear focus of the picture. But the background provides a great amount of contrast to help the hand and orange stand out.

I made sure to desaturate the brick, while leaving the paint nice and vibrant with color. The window provides a place for the eye to rest as it dances around the colorful center. This photo represents the beauty to be found on the streets.
